Review on the April Glossybox

Hello lovely readers, hope you all had a lovely Easter Break involving lots of chocolate!

Today’s post is all about Aprils Glossybox that I received at the start of the month. I wanted to give it a couple of weeks to test the products and see what I liked and what I didn’t like so much. To be honest, I wasn’t as excited when I opened this box. The bar was set so high after last months box which contained more Skincare products (my favourite) and it felt like you got more for your money.

April’s box was all about products that make life a bit easier when life gets busy with work, gym etc. Something I definitely relate to!

The first product was Elgon’s Deliwash Cleansing Conditioner at £14.50*, a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner. If I’m honest my first thoughts were that when combining the two, the quality and softness of my hair would be compromised, but I totally saw that this was a useful product, especially as I am now washing my hair so much more these days from going to the gym and am getting through the shampoo and conditioner. I’m quite lucky in that I don’t usually need to wash my hair more than a couple of times a week if I haven’t been working out. You have to be careful not to wash natural oils away by over-washing. Anyway, after reading this product I found it is actually free from sulphates, salts and artificial colours that dry your hair out, because of this, it doesn’t foam much which always makes me think I need to use more, but it is actually good that it isn’t foamy! It also smells amazing! 🙂

The product I was most excited about was the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL at £24* as I am currently in the in-between stage of the Maybelline ‘the falsies volume express’ where too much of the product comes out on the brush (I prefer it when mascara gets a little more dried out). I found this mascara easier to apply as there was less product all over the brush and it made my lashes look really long and defined. It also didn’t feel as heavy, clumpy or irritable on my eyes as other mascaras sometimes do.

Sportfx Shape Up Brow Pencil (full size) at £7.99. I wasn’t massively excited by this as I already own so many pencils and brow kits. I also usually use Dark Brown or mix Dark Brown and Black together, but actually when I used the pencil, it wasn’t black black. If that makes sense. It was a good colour for me and is easy to apply. This will be a convenient product to carry about as pencils break from being thrown around in my bag and this pencil is more of a soft crayon stick. It is also double ended with a brush to tidy those brows which is very useful and once applied, the colour didn’t rub off when I ran my fingers over, so I was actually quite pleased with this product.

ModelCo Contour Stick RRP £17*. At first I thought the colour was far too dark for me but I tested it on bare skin along the hollow area under the cheekbones, and once it was blended in, the result was subtle, but with some definition. The texture of the stick is creamy making it very easy to apply. I personally won’t use this as part of my day time look, but will definitely incorporate it into an evening look, also applying to the nose and jawline for the full contoured effect.

Merci Handy Cleansing Gel (also full size at £2.90*) was a fun little addition to the box. It is only a small pocket-sized bottle but definitely quality over quantity. I got the Black Vanilla version which smells amazing. As well as being an anti-bacterial gel, it also contains tiny pearls that help hydrate your hands, so definitely useful for everyday life.
