Autumn/Winter 18 Trends & Wishlist

Finally I’m getting a bit of time to write a fashion post! Things have been a little crazy lately and time limited with a 10 week old baby so my blog has been a little neglected and some trend inspiration is well overdue!

As we are now officially in the season of Autumn (one of my favourites!), I thought I’d put together some of the trends I’m seeing and loving, plus some pieces I have recently purchased.

Autumn/Winter 18 on the catwalks showcased some fabulous trends that have trickled down to the high street to bring us some affordable versions!

I get so excited with the transition from Summer to Autumn. Now it’s getting colder, we can start layering, adding texture to our outfits and completely switching the colour palette to rich and warm colours like burgundy and camel.

Here are some pieces that will help you create the perfect Autumn/Winter 18 wardrobe!

Animal Print

Ok, animal prints are huge right now. Leopard, snakeskin and zebra prints are everywhere. It’s crazy how animal print was perceived as a little tacky not that long ago (I’ve said it!) – But not any more! I’m hoping this trend stays for a while as I’ve already introduced a lot of leopard to my wardrobe and am planning to inject some other safari-inspired pieces too!

Checked prints are so classic whether it’s tartan, Balmoral or houndstooth. You can take a modern approach to the trend or throwback to the 90s – think Cher – Clueless vibes with a matching skirt and jacket.

I’ve just bought this jacket from H&M and am obsessed with it! Click to Shop..

Hats and headpieces

I’m so happy baker boy hats are still on trend this year – I loved wearing mine this time last year! A beret adds a french twist to your outfit or throw it back to the 90’s with a bucket hat. If you don’t want to hide your hair and would prefer something lighter, silk scarfs and head bands are a fun way to go!

Goodbye black, hello BROWN

The colour of the 70’s: brown is the colour to wear this Autumn. With so many different shades, you can find the perfect one to suit you and your skin tone, from camel to chocolate. Pair different shades together in one outfit for a chic, tonal assemble.
