Summer weddings are a perfect opportunity to get dressed up and enjoy being a part of someones special day! However, finding the perfect wedding guest dress can sometimes be a little tricky. You might not want to wear something too floral. Or rather than something pretty, you’d prefer something more unique – after all, you don’t want to see someone in the same dress!
It’s best to stick to the following tips depending on whether you are attending the full day including the ceremony or just the evening party.
If you have an all day wedding approaching, opt for something in a good length and family appropriate. You may even need a more modest dress that covers your shoulders if you are in a church. Alternatively, you could just cover your shoulders with a cute shawl, if necessary.
This post will also feature some dresses perfect for just the evening. Just click the images to shop. This is when you can bring some glam to the dance floor, whether it’s with sequins or embellishments!
For colour, neutral or pale coloured dresses are okay but it’s best not to wear white or cream. Unless you are super close to the bride and they do not mind or they have asked you to. Instead, find a colour that suits you and your skin tone, or compliments your tan or figure. This post features lots of gorgeous dresses to help you inject some bold colours and prints for your wedding guest dress.
Florals will forever look pretty, feminine and on trend. There are endless floral prints to choose from too at Quiz Clothing!
Lastly, check out the location of the wedding and look for dresses that suit that particular venue. It may help establish whether you need to overdress or underdress slightly.
Maxi dresses are fabulous summer dress and are a good choice if you’d prefer to cover your legs and show off other assets! Single ladies, a wedding can be a perfect opportunity to find the one remember!
Dip Hem Dresses
The dip hem trend has not gone anywhere and is a great shape for a wedding guest dress. The longer hem at the back adds a bit more coverage whilst still showing off your legs from a front angle!
Skater and tunic dress shapes are also slightly more casual styles similar to the tea dress:
Show off your shoulders with this classic silhouette – it’s sophisticated but fun! Lots of the Bardot styles also have a dipped hem (above) so you can incorporate two trends in one dress!
As mentioned above, you may only be attending a wedding for the evening party but this is where you can introduce some glamour! Shop for an evening wedding guest dress here:
These dresses may be more suitable if the venue is super sophisticated like a manor house, or if you are a bridesmaid! Research the suitability before purchasing as you may not need to be this overdressed, or get mistaken for a bridesmaid if you are not.
Enjoy shopping for the perfect wedding guest dress!
