Yesterday I spent the morning at the Glamour Beauty Festival held in the Saatchi Gallery, Sloane Square, so I wanted to share my first experience of attending and what I got up to whilst I was there immersed into a world of all things beauty related. Prepare for lots of reading…
Firstly I visited the Skincare zone where I had an Elizabeth Arden skin consultation and oxygen blast facial which felt amazing. My quest for perfect skin mostly revolves around moisturising and hydrating so I can achieve a natural, fresh-faced look, and with normal skin my regime isn’t overly complicated and I sometimes find less is more. The solution used on my face was Ceramide, a young-restoring solution in the form of a cleansing oil – it was so silky soft and absorbed into my skin fairly quickly. I then had the Superstart Skin Renewal Booster applied to help boost the results of the products being used. The final application was a serum, Brightening Day Serum with Advanced Mix Concentrate to illuminate my skin. The combination of these products left my skin feeling soft with a dewy look so I would use this regime at night to replenish and hydrate the skin overnight. To moisturise, I was advised to use Flawless Future Moisture Cream SPF 30 and the Flawless Future Night Cream – remembering to apply morning and night is definetely an improvement area for me!
I wanted to try all of the Skincare brands but with a race against time we visited Caudalie, an organic beauty brand, where the consultant advised on products to combat concerns with wrinkles and pollution whilst acheiving a healthy glow, again suitable for normal skin. To acheive a fresh, clean base, I had Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water, Grape Water and Beauty Elixir applied. For an expert treatment applied a couple of times a week, the Instant Detox Mask would be my go-to. The facial products that I received from Caudalie came from the VineActive collection and included the Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum, 3-in-1 Moisturiser, Energising and Smoothing Eye Cream and Overnight Detox Oil – the products felt so natural and smelt amazing!
We headed upstairs to grab the insane goodie bag worth over £190 and then sat down for a talk held by Alessandra Steinherr with a panel of industry influencers; Victoria Magrath (Inthefrow), Samantha Maria, Niomi Smart and Frankie Bridge. It was such an inspiration to hear from successful bloggers talking with passion about their favourite beauty items, and I picked up on some tips along the way.
Next on the agenda was make up as I was quite keen to get some back on after being bare-faced for an hour, although it gave my skin time to absorb the amazing skincare products that had been applied. We chose the Estée Edit Instagram Zone, Estée Lauder’s newest collection targeted towards a younger customer, with Kendall Jenner’s face on the brand, I was easily drawn in. I opted for a glow look as I love a soft, dewy complexion but I also wanted to incorporate a metallic gold eye. The look overall was quite subtle, perfect for a day look, consisting of foundation, concealer, highlighter, Flash Photo Powder under the eyes, and In the Flesh Lip Colour. To acheive a golden brown eyeshadow, the make up artist combined eye shadow and bronzer – I can’t believe I haven’t thought of that before!
Lastly, we visited the Hair Zone where I opted for GHD curls. I nearly always wear my hair straight but I will definitely be investing in some curling tongs to create those soft, bouncy curls and mix up my look more.
If I was to go next year I would definitely book the day ticket so I could have visited the NARS and Laura Mercier consultants as well as the HD Brow Bar. The morning just flew by too quickly – time flies when you are having fun!
What I wore: Black skinny jeans, jumper and heeled Chelsea boots all from New Look – not intentional but one of my favourite high street retailers and a quilted chain bag from ASOS.
