This post is a little late since we went to The Algarve, Portugal in July! But it was Harper’s first holiday just before she turned 1 so I thought I’d share some photos of what we got up to.
It was a fairly chilled holiday, and we stayed local to our villa most days, by the pool or at the beach.
The location of the villa that we stayed in is in Porches, the city of Lagoa in Portugal. It’s about a 45 minute drive from Faro airport.
The only day we left the villa/pool/beach was to visit Silves, a small but very historic and traditionally Portugese town. The main attraction there is the Castle of Silves, built between the 8th and 13th century.
We had an amazing lunch at the castles open-air cafe, Cafe Ingles, which was shaded by trees so you aren’t sitting directly in the sun. This was perfect for a little one, to keep them cool, and the waiters and waitresses were all so friendly especially with children.
Holidays are a little different when you have a baby as you spend most of your time in the shade. But Harper had such a good time, seeing new places and people. It didn’t feel overly hot, mostly because we’d had a lot of sun at home in England so it wasn’t such a contrast of weather.
