Palm leaves and warm breeze..
This months box is a gorgeous pink and green palm tree print that screams summer! For May, Birchbox are helping us breathe fresh life into our beauty routines with the following products. You can click the links to easily shop them too!
There was a choice of colour between Steaming Red and Amber Rose, and feeling indecisive that day, I let Birchbox choose! I received the red according to the sample although it looks very ‘Amber Rose’. It’s a little messy when applying but once on it dries super quickly and looks really good!
Greenfrog Botanic Bodywash
I love that this is a cruelty-free product completely free from nasties. It doesn’t lather at all presumably because of how natural it is but it’s a really soft consistency that makes the skin feel smooth. It smells delicious too!
Native Unearthed Activated Natural Charcoal Balm
I was a bit confused that this product came half empty with the lid off so I queried with Birchbox. They sent another sample, again with the same amount in so I guess that’s how it’s supposed to be!? It’s quite hard to get the balm out as the pot is so small and it gets under your nails – argh! Although I’m intrigued to see how I get on with this product. Currently my underarms are going through a really sensitive stage (pregnancy related I believe) so I’m avoiding all products in that area and can’t feedback due to this!
I was most excited about this product as skincare is my favourite in the beauty department! However I’ve seen lots of people get either Caudalie or Nuxe products which would have been my preference. I’ve never tried a Marcelle product but I’m always excited to try a new brand. I’ve incorporated this into my morning routine, applying under my makeup as per the instructions. The serum is a really nice consistency and scent-free. It melts into the skin in a good way but I’ve found myself using quite a lot each application. Once applied, my skin feels much smoother and renewed instantly – love!
I rarely wear eyeliner and when I do it would be a pencil – for some reason I don’t get along with liquid eyeliners so this product won’t get used by me – unless I decide to practice my winged lids!
There wasn’t many ‘highlights’ in this box – no full sizes, only one 4-star rated product and two Birchbox exclusives. Overall I was a bit disappointed with the size of the products – all quite miniature. I have decided to give Birchbox a break and try some of the other beauty boxes out there. Do you have any recommendations? I love Glossybox and Latest In Beauty so I will probably get one of these next month!
